Subaru Problems? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello my name is***** am an ASE Master Technician and I am glad to help you out with your question.
I work at the Subaru dealer as a tech. Check the rod that attaches to the motor it probably came off and can simply be reattached. I have replaced these rods before if it continues to come off.
The rod is on the drivers side behind the trim panel, but it does not need to be removed.
Please reply to this if you need more help and we can continue this conversation at no extra charge. This does not have to be my only answer. I am not able to send the picture here. Its on the drivers side. You will see the rod when the gate is open. It goes into the plastic trim panel on the drivers side and attaches to the motor there.
