My 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R is making a growling noise in

Customer Question

My 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R is making a growling noise in the front part of the engine. This growl is more intense when the car is in reverse or idling. The dealer said that the o-ring in the power steering pump was blown. They said they replaced the o-ring but not evidence of that happening on the engine. The car was still making the the alternator was replaced. The car is still making the noise. Could it be the power steering pump us faulty?

Hi. Does the noise in the front of the engine change when you rev up the engine?
