My ac has a leak. I had it charged with the dye and drove

Customer Question

my ac has a leak. I had it charged with the dye and drove the car about 700 miles. The ac worked the whole trip but soon after quit working. I had the o rings changed the drove the car for about 50 miles and the ac quit working. Any idea why this would happen? The mechanic saw no other leaks other that the o rings.
JA: What part of the car is the leak coming from? What color is the fluid?
Customer: The air conditioning, the color of the dye the mechanic put in to spot the leak.
JA: What is the model/year of your Subaru?
Customer: 2011 subaru impreza
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No, had the ac charged once and it worked for about a week. Replaced the O rings, worked for less than a day.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: no
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Subaru Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

good morning my name is ***** ***** I will assist

what o rings??? there are many

if he found no leaks, the other place is the evaporator which you cannot see. the way to test is to charge the system until it sweats and examine the water on the ground for dye and the drain hose associated with the drain. using a good led light will detect the leak.

the tech needs to look harder. freon does not evaporate, it leaks.
