When I turn the key to start the car the dashboard lights

Customer Question

Hi, when I turn the key to start the car the dashboard lights flash but the car won't start.. the headlights work , the inside roof light blinks. Could it be the battery?
JA: Is the car in "Park" or "Neutral?" Do you know if your car has a "wheel lock" feature?
Customer: It's in park I don't believe it has wheel lock as I was able to put it in neutral.
JA: What is the model/year of your Subaru?
Customer: 2014 crosstrek
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: If it's just a battery yes. I've done nothing aside from trying to start it
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: I've had no previous issues at all.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Subaru Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Yes, this could be caused by the battery being discharged.
