2004 Outback w/EJ251 2.5L SOHC w/ air injector injection,

Customer Question

2004 Outback w/EJ251 2.5L SOHC w/ air injector injection, 113K miles. Keep getting P0303 cylinder #3 misfire only during initial cold start up for 5-15 seconds. Once misfire clears, engine runs fine. New #3 spark plug, new #3 ignition wire, new coil pack, swapped #1 & #3 injectors & problem did not go with injector swap, compression 185 psi both #1 & #3 cylinders cold, checked valve clearance to Subaru service manual spec-ok, cleaned air injector injection system, cleaned throttle body, new MAP sensor & IAC. Head gaskets & front & rear O2 sensors recently replaced. What is the root cause of #3 misfire?

Hello I will help you with your question,

Any coolant usage at all?

Have you pulled the #3 plug cold and looked inside the cylinder?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
3 plug looks fine, just like #1. No signs of coolant.

We can pick up where we left off or start over. I hate you paid all that money for your question deposit and have left not satisfied. Would any diagrams or repair guides or a phone call help?.
