Hi, 2005 subaru outback I can't move my auto gear shift out of park position. Is there a way I can bypass the Brake-Transmission Shift Interlock - is this a solenoid? Where would I find this switch to bypass it. Please help Thanks, Dave

Greetings Sir or Madam and welcome to JA! I will do my very best to assist you with your problem.
Hi there! You want to chack and make sure the brake lights are working when you step on the brake.
There is a shift lock overide on the cover. A small plastic piece you remove from the cover, then push a pen cap or small screwdriver straight down and pull the shift lever at the same time. This will get you out of park.
