  1. Remove clutch fork return spring.
  2. Turn adjusting nut to obtain an end play of .08-.12 inch (2-3 mm) onXXXXXnon-turbo models, or .12-.16 inch (3-4 mm) onXXXXXandXXXXXmodels with turbo, at fork end, Fig. 1. When performing adjustment, use care not to twist clutch cable.
  3. Check to ensure clutch release lever full stroke measures 1.004-1.063 inch (25.5-27.0 mm) on 1985-88XXXXXmodels and 1986-88XXXXXturbo models, or .67-.71 inch (17-18 mm) on all other models.
