Customer: I am putting a floor in a room size is 12 x 24 in size and the floor will be located above the concrete slab. I need the size of the joist to use.
JA: Is there anything else the Structural Engineer should be aware of?
Customer: no. except the joist will be attach to a concrete wall with sound the room.

How did you arrive at the 8,000 pounds? This is only 28 psf total load and seems very light.
