We had 2, Watershed Microlam LVL delivered to our construction site. The plan is to field assemble the two LVL's into a 3 1/2 X 9 1/2 central beam to support 2X10 joists --- inches on center using joist hangers.
The LVL beam will have a mid span support (steel Post) and a total span of 20 feet. How deep should the end support pockets be? (end bearing) How long should the mid span post support bearing block be? (3 1/2 X ? ) What should the connector spacing be to fiels assemble the two LVL's with 3 1/2 USP WS screws?

it is spanning 10' between the walls and post?

joists are 16 inches on center and the span is 10 feet from wall to post and 10 feet from post to wall.
