Customer Question

Hi Peral
JA: OK. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so we can help you best.
Customer: Hi Pearl - I'd like to know what size of RSJs would be needed for a 4m wide x 15m long bridge capable of taking 80 tonnes - any ideas? Mark
JA: Is there anything else the Structural Engineer should be aware of?
Customer: Don't think so - I'd like an idea of the number of RSJs needed and their depth
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Structural Engineer about your situation and then connect you two.

Hello.
Expert:  StructuralEng replied 7 months ago.
What kind of decking will you use? I can size the beams, but you'll also need to make sure the deck can spam between the beams.
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
The decking would need to be a strong steel road deck - but my main objective right now is to understand how thick the bridge will need to be to take 80 tonne vehicles. The thinner the better, to reduce the visual impact.

Will you be responding?

I apologize for the technical difficulty. I responded yesterday. I will post again now

To make the bridge profile thinner I'd prefer to have more than two beams going across
Expert:  StructuralEng replied 7 months ago.
Four RSJ 610x305x238.
Muir need to ensure the deck is sized to span the four beams

Great - thanks
