So it looks like a second floor on one side and the loft on the other. Is there an attic on either side? Are the joists perpendicular to the beam on both sides? What is the joist length on the second floor side? What is the joist length on the loft side?
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
There are 2 (2x10) headers
-Perpendicular joist in the dinning room holding the bedroom above
-Perpendicular joist in the loft as well
There is vaulted ceilings in both loft and bedroom
The attic is on the opposite side of the house
Expert:  StructuralEng replied 8 months ago.
Great. What is the joist length on each side?Is there any ceramic tile on the second floor?
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
There is a stone fireplace in the bedroom
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
The joist has to be 8-10 feet
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Laminate floor in the second floor and ceramic tile in the master bathroom
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
From the stone to the pole is 13'4" & 17'4" from window to wall opening in the living
Expert:  StructuralEng replied 8 months ago.
Is it real stone or veneer? Does it go down and have its own foundation?
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Yes it does real stone
Expert:  StructuralEng replied 8 months ago.
So that won't load this beam. At least, it shouldn't.The ceiling above the loft appears flat, not vaulted. If the joists in the kitchen are perpendicular to the beam, they appear longer than 10'
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Even the stone on the second floor isn't to much weight? Would it be Safe to move the pole?
Expert:  StructuralEng replied 8 months ago.
Can you confirm my questions above?I thought you said the stone went all the way to ground and has a foundation? If that's true then it shouldn't be loading the beam?
Expert:  StructuralEng replied 8 months ago.
I can tell you for certain that you can't just remove the pole as-is. The only question is how much of a beam you do need.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I'd either like to remove it completely or move it over a little so it's not dead center
