I am building a covered porch with a shed roof with a span

Customer Question

I am building a covered porch with a shed roof with a span of 13'-1". I plan on using 2x8 rafters at 16" oc at a pitch of 2/12. Does that seem ok? The columns are 4X6's and are 6'-6" apart. Can I use a pair of 2X8's as the beam between these columns, bearing those rafters?

Couple of questions:1. What city and state do you live in for possible snow load consideration?2. What will your roofing material be?
