I am looking to size a beam to support the second floor above

Customer Question

I am looking to size a beam to support the second floor above my living room. I want to remove the wall to open it up. It is an 18' span and will be supported by an exterior wall on each end. Floor joists for second floor are 2×10 @16". There will be a non bearing partition wall above it. I would like to bury the beam in ceiling by using hangers. I don't mind having the beam hang down a little below ceiling. I don't want to go any taller than 14" for the beam. There will be 11' to existing support each way on floor joists from beam.

It will not be supporting an attic. It will not have tile. It will be a bedroom with carpet.
