Quarters inside of a metal building, there is a two story

Customer Question

For living quarters inside of a metal building, there is a two story existing structure. With remodeling in progress, there is an area that requires an 18 foot span. second floor joists are 2x10 on 16 inch centers. The bearing wall is coming out. To carry the load the plan is to remove the baring wall and replace with a 6 x10 wood beam. Question is , will that beam be enough. The load above is the second story without a roof load.

Hello

The beam is spamming 18'. What is the joist length on each side of the beam? Will it support an attic in addition to the second floor? Will it support any ceramic tile?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Joist length on one side is 12 feet, the second side is 6 feet. There is nothing in the attic space. There will no ceramic tile
