Customer Question

I have a 24" tall knee wall on top of my foundation. I would lke to add some windows to get some natural light in my basement. Can I just take out 1 or 2 of the approximate 19.5" tall studs and install either 30" wide or 46" wide windows without any header? The floor framing is 2x10's, so the single 2x10 ring joist will need to carry the 1 or 2 floor joists and upper load. I would install joist hangers to the joists above the window openings. I think I would also leave the double 2x6 top plates under the 2x10 floor joists.

Can you take a look at the following link and answer the questions at the bottom of the sheet? Your answers will allow me to accurately model the loading and size your beam. Thanks
