I have a home that currently has a two person Jacuzzi tub in

Customer Question

I have a home that currently has a two person Jacuzzi tub in the masterbath. When remolding the kitchen, that is below the master bath, I removed the pantry closet that seemed to be built using a larger header. I assumed that it was there to give extra support for the tub. I was not concerned about it because no one ever used the tub. Now we are getting ready to put our house on the market and I am concerned about jacuzzi tub. The joist are 10", 16" on center and span 17' 8". I am wondering if that is ok or should I take the jacuzzi tub out and just put in a regular size tub. Thanks

The jacuzzi tub is set into a frame surrounded by tile. It is located in an outside corner of the house.

Those joists are undersized even without any tub. 2x10 joists should not be spamming almost 18' unless yheyre southern pine select structural grade (or something similar)
