I would like to tray my basement ceiling. The room is 14 x 20'. 2x 10 joists span the 14' length. I would like to tray an area 6'x10'. The joists would be cut back to 6" and then an lvl joist 2x6 would be sistered to each of the cut joists and run the 14' length.
Would this work?
