Hello. How are you doing? I'll be happy to assist you.
What exactly is the beam supporting?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
15lb dead load, and 50lb live load
Expert:  StructuralEng replied 1 year ago.
Are these as joists or main beam? If joists, what is the spacing? If main beam, what is the joist length on each side of the beam?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Geez..... I said BEAM. And I gave you the loads. Just read the chart and tell me the longest allowable span for the 6x6 SYP BEAM

I know what information I need, which is why I’m asking you questions. 15 DL and 50 LL is a uniform load in psf. I need a load in plf which can only be determined by knowing the length of the joists on each side of the beam. I presumed you knew what information you were providing, which is why I thought they may be joists (because that is the only way a psf is sufficient). I’m sorry you feel the need to respond in that type of negative manner. I will opt out now. Good luck with your project.
