I,m adding on to myexisting home.it's basement and two stories above. the steel beam in the basement will be an 8" beam spaning 25' with a post in the middle. my problem is on the second floor what weight beam do I need the span the same 25' without a support post.i'll be supporting the third floor and the existing roof.

What is the joist length on each side?
Will it support any ceramic tile?

1 side is a 12'wood beam which will tie into the steel beam I'm asking about. on the other side of this will be the 12' addition.
no tile it will be carpeting.
