StructuralEng : Hi
StructuralEng : I can help
StructuralEng : Let me read closer
StructuralEng : Ok, I can tell you the weight the beam can hold, but the connection will be critical
StructuralEng : Do you know te grade of steel?
StructuralEng : Do you have a deflection limit?
JACUSTOMER-p22m6wzy- :

it was told to me that it is a high grade steel, cutting the end and rounding it with a grinder, very little sparks...which tells me it has some hardness to it or a higher grade then common carbon steel.

JACUSTOMER-p22m6wzy- :

Info...........I am a welder....have a welding business and a comp machine shop....so sort of know hardness and grades of steel....

StructuralEng : Ok, let me run some numbers
StructuralEng : 1200 pounds is a good number if it's a stattic load
StructuralEng : If it has any dynamic aspect, use 900 pounds
StructuralEng : Again, the connection will be critical.
StructuralEng : If you've found my answer helpful, please click the green "accept" button.  I'll be happy to answer additional questions on the topic.  If you could provide feedback, I would appreciate it
