StructuralEng : Hi
StructuralEng : I can help
StructuralEng : Let me read closer
StructuralEng : What is a 9.5 joist? I've never heard that terminology used.
StructuralEng : Before we get started I’d like to point out that a Professional Engineer’s standard of care typically includes a site visit to assess field conditions and get an overall understanding of the structure.  This can obviously not be accomplished through the internet.  The information provided here is meant for informational purposes only (general sizing and budgeting) and is based on the information provided by you.  The information should be verified by a professional engineer who can visit the site to ensure that potentially important information has not been overlooked or omitted
Customer :

9.5 inch tji

StructuralEng : Ok
StructuralEng : 2x3 flame or 2x4 flange?
StructuralEng : What spacing?
Customer :

2x3 24 inch

StructuralEng :

I'm still here

StructuralEng :

What do you mean 24"? 24 what?

Customer :

24inch on center

StructuralEng :

Can I ask why you gave negative feedback when I'm still trying to answer the question?

StructuralEng :

ok. Give me a few minutes

Customer :

you went off line

StructuralEng :

No, I didn't. I never left the chat

Customer :

answer?

StructuralEng :

I'm checking right now. Give me just a couple minutes

Customer :

is there an answer

StructuralEng :

Did you give me negative feedback again?

StructuralEng :

Seriously?

Customer :

you have not given me an answer

StructuralEng :

I said that I need a few minutes to answer

StructuralEng :

I have to do some calculations.

StructuralEng :
Customer :

ok

StructuralEng :

If you have the TJI 230 (flanges are 1-3/8" x 2-58", then you're marginal at 24" spacing. 19.2" spacing is more appropriate.

StructuralEng :

"accept" button. I'll be happy to answer additional questions
on the topic. If you could provide feedback, I would appreciate it.

Customer :

what about series 120 tji

StructuralEng :

There is no 120, there is 110, 210, and 230

Customer :

what about 210 or 110

StructuralEng :

No, they will not work, they have lower capacity

Customer :

thank you

StructuralEng :

No problem
