1) What age will my child turn when I am no longer

1) What age will my child turn when I am no longer responsible for her as her guardian? Please confirm this age under a) South African law and b) New Zealand law.
2) After said age, is she no longer a child or minor child, under South African law? And under New Zealand law?
3) Once she has turned said age, am I no longer liable to pay school fees? Am I no longer liable for tertiary fees? Am I no longer liable to have her reside with me? In under South African law? And under New Zealand law?

I can only respond with New Zealand law, and the answer to all three, is the age of 18, which is the age of majority in New Zealand.

Thank you Chris, thats what I thought. But I see IRD has a change April 1st regarding school fees until age 19?

You are liable for child support until the child turns 19, if they are still dependent on their parents as a student. But if they are working or on an unemployment benefit the liability ceases at the time they get a job or a benefit.
