Will I have a criminal record if I ask the court for an aog and pay that? The matter has appeared in court 3 times now and trial is set to start on the next date. Speed was 163 in a 120 zone.
Good day. Yes, you will. An acknowledgment of guilt is just that. It is an admission that you are guilty of the offence you are charged with and as such, you will be found guilty of that crime. Once you have been found guilty of that crime, that court record will be sent to the criminal records centre, where it will lie against your name for 10 years, after which you can apply to have it removed.
