On exiting a town there is a speed limit sign indicating 80 km/h. The road is open with no houses and virtually no pedestrians, it is wide single lane with yellow emergency lanes on both sides. The next town is 50 Km away but the next speed limit sing only appears after 25 Km. Does this mean I must travel at 80 Km/h for the next 25 Km or does the 80 Km/h expire after a certain distance?
Optional Information: Province: Mpumalanga Already Tried: This is on the road from White River to Sabie. I have sent the same question to Arive Alive
HiWelcome to Just Answer!! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to assist you.
There is no regulation in the National Road Traffic Act that indicates that in the absence of another sign that the limit increases automatically. There will have to be another sign that indicates that the limit increases. You will have to travel the limit indicated on the sign and you will expose yourself to fines if you do ignore this.
If it is a case that there is a sign missing, my view is that you will have to check with the Provincial Traffic Authorities for Mpumalanga on whether this strectch is missing a sign.
