I have to have my computer reinstall Microsoft and how I can't find out how to open my CD player.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact model of your computer? And what operating system are you running?
Customer: Dell Inspiration - purchased in Dec. 2015
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Well, after the Micrsopft update - there was about 4 hours of updates!
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no-I don't think so.

What is the model of your Dell computer? it is a laptop or a desktop ?

Hi. I had to restart my PC - I'm ready when you are.

Go to the Desktop and double-click My Computer. Windows Explorer will open; find your DVD drive and right-click it. Choose "Eject" from the list and the drive should open.

Locate the eject button and press it : (click this image please)

My PC still does not have CD access. I give up. going to Best Buy to see about a new PC. This has been a nightmare. Between the operating system and the CD. Thanks anyway.

is the only problem that the cd does not work ?

and did this all happen after some updates ?

you can try restoring it to before the problem occurred

System restore instructions - windows 7 8 10

hold the windows logo key and hit R
in the box that appears type

rstrui.exe

hit enter

select restore to an earlier date.

Under the "suggested restore" which is usually not old enough to help is a link for "OTHER RESTORE POINTS"
click that if the suggested ones are not BEFORE THE PROBLEM STARTED

choose a date from the calendar that is BEFORE you experienced the problem

hit ok / restore

the computer will start to shut down

a restoring settings box will appear with a status bar

when it finishes your computer will restart with the same settings it had on the date you restored to. your data will not be affected.

It is not perfect. But it fixes a lot of things.

Hi. System restore did not work. I have spent the last 2 weeks with numerous experts and my PC still did not work properly. Not the fault of the experts - I ordered a new PC instead. My PC is only a year old and I've had more issues than my previous PC that was a good 6-8 years old. Thanks anyway - I any pleased with the service I have received from Just Answer.
