PDF fillable form // Privacy related question.
The medical office I work in has patients complete a history form online through our PDFFILLER business account. For great security I wonder if I could use an app, or make an adjustment to Acrobat or Foxit that would create fillable forms that could be sent to us but not using email. Thanks

Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

I don't think that could be done, without a lot of custom programming at some considerable expense. (And if so, not with Acrobat or FoxIt, which it is of course forbidden for programmers to alter.)

Instead, would it be acceptable if a PDF form was filled out in either program, then from that program, sent via email?

thanks. re: email: no commercial emails like gmail are secure enough for health care privacy standards.

I see.

Maybe VPN communication would be good enough? let me know.

ok, how could their completed forms be transmitted using a VPN?

You can continue to ask questions... I haven't yet provided an answer, which enables ratings... but, thanks! for trying.

VPN is a highly secure method of transmission. It is rather hard to set up.

Adobe Acrobat and FoxIt certainly don't have VPN transmission built-in.

I proposed it, not as an answer, but to ask you (since I do not know) whether that would be listed as sufficient for health care privacy standards ?
