Windows 10 has just been installed on my computer and now I can't play a CD in the CD drive or rip the CD to my library. Can you tell me how I can play a CD and rip the music to my music library?

Right-click on start (the windows logo) click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then, under System, click Device Manager. In the list of hardware categories, find the CD/DVD device and then double-click on it.

Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then follow the instructions.

Restart your computer and check, if the problem persists uninstall the CD/DVD by right-click the CD/DVD device then select uninstall Restart your computer and let me know the results

I'm sorry for the delay in replying, Try uninstalling the two programs (TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator, TOSHIBA Disc Creator) if they are installed :

  1. At the START screen type "Control Panel"
  2. Select "Programs" --> "Uninstall a program"
  3. Find the two programs listed above and uninstall these applications
  4. After the application programs are uninstalled restart your computer using the Power
  5. Restart option in Windows 10
  6. When the computer power back on the CD/DVD drive should be available

HI Jess, sorry for the delay in replying. I have a Toshiba computer satellite L750. SINCE WINDOWS 10 DOWNLOADED ON MY COMPUTER I am not able to play or rip a cd. I would appreciate if you could please tell me how to do this.

Can I remotely access your computer so that I can directly check and fix the problem while you watch?

Please do these steps first:

  1. Right click on the Microsoft logo icon on the lower left corner of your computer. (That's the START button)
  2. In the context menu that opens, click on Command Prompt (Admin)
  3. In the black command window, type this command:

    sfc /scannow
  4. Note that there is a space between c and /
  5. Press Enter and allow the computer to complete the scan
  6. Then restart the computer then test the CD again
