When I scan from the flatbed of my HP8710 the resulting PDF

Customer Question

When I scan from the flatbed of my HP8710 the resulting PDF document is letter size. However, when I scan from the sheet feeder, it is legal size. If I open Configure Presets, the Paper Size has only Automatic option. I cannot set the width or height. This same problem happens whether I scan by selecting Black & White Document or Custom Scan.

windows
Expert:  Bhavik Joshi replied 1 year ago.

Please try following steps :-

1. Open Devices and Printers
2. Right click the printer and select Printing Preferences
3. Click on Features tab
4. Click on Sizes and choose "More"
5. Choose "Metric" or "English" at the top (depending on the size options you want available)
6. Select the paper size you want as default, then click OK
7. Click Apply, then OK on the remaining window
8. Right click the printer again and select "Set as Default"

This should make whatever paper size you select be "default" in whatever application you are printing from (unless the application has a default override).

Did this. Size is already set to letter. This is a scan issue, not a printing issue.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
This is not helping, I would like a refund.
