When using Chrome, running Windows 10, I "google" a search

Customer Question

When using Chrome, running Windows 10, I "google" a search often I get the error,
"This site can’t be reached
The connection was reset.
Try:
Reloading the page
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
ReloadHIDE DETAILS"
After running the available Windows diagnostics I get the following:
Issues found Detection details
6 One or more network protocols are missing on this computer Detected Detected
Windows Sockets registry entries required for network connectivity are missing.
Restore network protocols to default settings Not run

...and I'm unable to go any further. If I immediately pull up the Firefox search engine, I have no problems and I can do my various searches with no challenges, errors, etc.
Can you fix or advise me regarding how to resolve this error_code issue with Chrome?
I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome once.
Thank you.

Hello, and thank you for using this service.

Please tell me the exact steps you take to cause this error message. In particular, do you get this when doing a google search up at the URL bar , or on the google homepage? Also, are you able to browse the web at all with chrome?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
1. I can browse the web with Chrome successfully. I have no issues when using the bookmarks icons.
2. To generate the symptoms, I search from either the Google home page or the URL bar at the top of my browser screen.
