My pc was "secured" by AVG under a contract until April

Customer Question

my pc was "secured" by AVG under a contract until April 2016. However, I foolishly responded to a pop up possibly from AVG and made a phone call to a tech group posing as part of AVG. I allowed the tech to take over my computer, he said "to clean it up and remove blockers which were slowing it down" (a few of those were additional security protection). Since then, my computer has become blocked (twice in one afternoon), my screen has many more ads appearing on screen, my printer isn't printing in color and I
can not read typed material I print. I paid a considerable amount for this "service" when I already had a contract.
I now believe I may have called a fraudulent attempt to impersonate AVG. Could this have happened? Can you help me reclaim my computer?

This does sound like a scam, if you gave them your credit card number I would call the bank and inform them this was a scam.
