that's kind of a loaded question. It depends on hardware and software. You may have some malware or the computer itself may be an older model. Can you provide your computer make and model?
I can look up the make and model for you for the hardware specs and see what can be done if it is a hardware issue.
First let's take a look at what you have for hardware. Do you see any names on the computer?
Ok. That's a good start. Now those are just specs on the computer. However I do see a brand name satellite c55 series which sounds like a toshiba satellite c55 series. Sounds like a laptop if I am correct.
Ok. Good job. Now we need to get a bit further in the details. This may require you to turn over the laptop for some specific information. What we want to look for is additional model information. It should be on the back on a tag or it may be on the right or left side of the laptop. below the keyboard. The C55 series has multiple versions of the product. What I am looking for specifically is something that would say C55 - <additional information>
For example Satellite C55-A-100 is a model number for the C55 series laptops
Okay no that won't work for this one but I am glad you had the opportunity to see that part.
Let's try this another way. If you don't mind where did you purchase? I may be able to lock down by looking up their past sales. Also, you did send me some specs I can narrow down to that as well
Let's try this...
Let's go to the following website. It will scan for us and provide the information we need
You will see a system scanner button on the right. Select the box to download and run.
You will have to agree to the terms.
Let me know when it's finished.
On occasion depends on the processing power of the device
When you were reviewing the back of your laptop did you see a serial number by chance? That's another way we can find out.
Take a look at the link I sent to you. This is where it would be located.
Ok did the scan finish?
Cool I think you got it.. It's a C55-A5105 it has a maximum memory allowed up to 8GB
At this point how familiar are you with Windows 8?
Just in case the memory upgrades for your specific laptop is $47.00
I may need to do a remote session with you if you're not comfortable with Windows 8. It's a bit different than Windows 10 and drastically changed from Windows 7. I can provide remote support for $50.00 if you're interested.
Or we can try a online virus scanner to review whether your laptop is infected. Do you currently have a Antivirus?
There may be however the steps taken so far has provided us with some information that will allow us to check into hardware specs. Since it's a laptop refurbished the original settings or parts may be either more or less. The scan itself should tell us more, that there will be no need to review the actual specs remotely. However, I can direct you to a online virus scanner that may be able to at least see if there is malware on the laptop.
This url can be used for scanning online. If this does not work. Again, I can provide remote support.
If the online scanner does not work for you. Please feel free to reach out to***@******.*** and one of our techs can assist you further.
Also, if your Antivirus/AntiMalware is not up to date or expired we do offer subscription services for McAfee, Symantec, Webroot, ESET, and others. So again feel free to reachout if you have any questions or issues.
