Ok. Good job. Now we need to get a bit further in the details. This may require you to turn over the laptop for some specific information. What we want to look for is additional model information. It should be on the back on a tag or it may be on the right or left side of the laptop. below the keyboard. The C55 series has multiple versions of the product. What I am looking for specifically is something that would say C55 - <additional information>
For example Satellite C55-A-100 is a model number for the C55 series laptops

There may be however the steps taken so far has provided us with some information that will allow us to check into hardware specs. Since it's a laptop refurbished the original settings or parts may be either more or less. The scan itself should tell us more, that there will be no need to review the actual specs remotely. However, I can direct you to a online virus scanner that may be able to at least see if there is malware on the laptop.
