adobe reader on MacBook for Joseph F Callo III***@******.*** is asking for password ***** open pdf file to repair...password ***** after years of not using account. What can I do to rectify this problem?

Do you mean the PDF file itself is protected by a password?

Or you do not remember your Mac Password ***** open the application itself?

adobe account software that was installed on my mac when purchased and I cannot get it to function to repair a damaged file, and furthermore, I attempted to upgrade the software a few weeks ago so that it was not just read only, and now I have software that is essentially useless and you have charged my card and I still don't have the answer to the original question...maybe I don't need the software as it currently exists and will think about my options in the future, even though I probably need it for flash player, read pdf and the basics...not happy! How about basic support without all the offers? That would be a good start...

to repair a damaged pdf file that is a copy of a certificate that was sent by OSHA this morning, prompt is asking for Adobe account file password...
