Hello and thank you for choosing JUSTANSWER.com

Im not sure you have actually asked a question, only eluded to an error.

Did you have a question?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I keep getting this message Monitor files has encountered a problem and needs to close. An error report has been sent to Microsoft a number of time with no response. This message come up every minute while i'm on the computer!!

MOnitor files....that kind of sounds like a virus. Do you have any Antivirus software?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
McAfee!
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Oh, McAfee is THEE worst!

its really a poorly written and managed AV program.

But, in any case.....have you done any SCANS of the harddrive lately?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
today!
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Are you able to DISABLE McAfee, even if its just for awhile. To see if that stops the error messages from coming up.

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

I think that the REAL TIME MONITORING is malfunctioning, either on McAfee, or from a virus acting as a MONITOR file.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Do i need to call McAfee?
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

NO, they wont help you anyways.

YOur best bet is to let me help you fix this.

Would you mind if we did a remote session, so i can SEE and fix the error. While you watch.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What do you need to do?
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Well, i would check a few things, like the drivers, and see if the device manager is seeing anything wrong.

I would check the event viewer for the error's, and also see if McAfee has anythign to do with it.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What is the cost?
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

It would be an additional $21. And there is NO guarantee it will fix the issue either.

If it is Virus related, Sometimes, the ONLY fix is to REinstall the WHOLE operating system, and wipe/erase the hard drive.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I will do some more checking. I have been wanting a new computer anyway.
