Customer Question

Using Quickbooks Desktop 2014. In my chart of accounts, I have two specific accounts that I do not want to be calculated or used in any report. One is an income and the other is an expense account. How can I edit this account so its not calculated?

Hi,You can make the account inactive. In QuickBooks, this process is called deleting an account - scary I know! But, rest assured, the account is available to be brought back to life with a click of the button from the "Deleted accounts" Report. On the Chart of Accounts, highlight the account that you wish to remove and click on delete. This will remove it from any calculations.
