Hi, I am A. Stevens here to help with your question!Could you give me a little more information about this problem? What is it that you are doing when you receive this error?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Do you have an answer to this error message

Expert:  dresteve2000 replied 1 year ago.
Hi sorry but I would need some more information about the error before I can give you the correct asnwer
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

I sent a response to this question already. I thought I was backing up my c drive to an external HD. When I attempt to open a file, they are greyed out and I receive the error message the file does not exist. It almost appears to be an encryption or protection of some sort

Expert:  dresteve2000 replied 1 year ago.
Thanks for that info, sorry not sure why I didn't get your previous response. How did you perform the backup? Did you use some software to do it?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

No i did not. I just copied the files from the C drive to my external hd

Expert:  dresteve2000 replied 1 year ago.
Very strange...and you are accessing the drive from the same computer that you copied it from?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

no...from a different computer

Expert:  dresteve2000 replied 1 year ago.
I understand, and so you can see the files but they just don't open. This is all files or anything in particular?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

all files ...can you assist

Expert:  dresteve2000 replied 1 year ago.
Yes...could you send me a screen shot of the greyed out directories?
