Please download and install ccleaner and follow my instructions below...
Download/Install CCLEANER. Here is the link...

Click Download The Latest Version in the top-right hand corner. Once you have this software installed, run it for me. Now i want you to do this with it.
1) Check all boxes under these Categories
- Internet Explorer
- Windows Explorer
- Advanced , PLEASE keep wipe free space UNCHECKED
Wipe Free Space is like Disk Defragment, its very good to use but it takes a while to run it.
2) Click Run Cleaner
3) Click Registry on the main left hand side column
4) Click Scan for Issues
5) Click Fix Select Issues
6) Click No
7) Click Fix All Select Issues
8) Click Ok
9) Click Close
10) Close CCLEANER & Restart Computer
AT THIS POINT, REINSTALL YOUR SOFTWARE FROM FRESH
I followed all the steps, restarted, and re-installed Rosetta Stone, and I still get the "Fatal Application Error #2111" and error #2032 when attempting to open the program. I uninstalled the Rosetta Stone and followed all the steps you outlined again, and I still get the error messages. Any other suggestions?
can you setup a new user account in windows vista, then install rosetta on it? this will give us a definitive answer in whether or not the software is the issue or if the USER ACCOUNT on your vista machine is the issue.
to setup a new user account in vista, go to the control panel, then user accounts, and select new
then install rosetta on that user account, please let me know if you need additional instructions
Ok...I created a new user account, then installed Rosetta Stone and got the same "Fatal Application Error #2111" and error 2032. Yesterday I installed this same Rosetta Stone software on my old desktop computer which runs Windows XP, and it works just fine....the problem is that I need it on my laptop (Vista) for portability. There seems to be a problem with this software and Windows Vista. Any other suggestions?
have you run ALL the updates from microsoft on your windows vista?
those will be critical to the full functionality of rosetta
I have always run all updates from Microsoft... it's on automatic updates, and I ran it yesterday manually to make sure.
are you using the latest service pack? also MSXML is required for the proper installation of Rosetta stone, you can get it from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15697
Yes...using the current service pack...service pack 2... (updated it a couple days ago). I will try the MSXML and get back with you.
I downloaded MSXML (mssml.exe), restarted my computer, reinstalled Rosetta Stone, and I'm still getting the "Fatal Application Error #2111" and error 2032.
Oops...msxml.exe is what I downloaded...not mssml.exe
