I'm not sure if my reply went through so here it is again . . . I went through the entire (huge) list of registry items in
and couldn't find one for Ad-Aware. Any other ideas?
No. Remember that I had previously searched the registry for "Lavasoft", "Ad-Aware", "Ad Aware" and "AdAware" per another thing I found on the web on how to remove Ad-Aware which had other items that needed to be manually removed (like these registry items) that the uninstaller didn't remove.
Download, install, and then run the following utility to clean your system:
Ccleaner - this will remove unnecessary files from your PC and free up a significant amount of space, including temporary internet files and other junk files. It will also clean out the system registry, which is where all of your program pointers reside. Run the file and registry cleaner 2 or 3 times each, or until they do not come up with findings..
Let me know if you still have the problem.
I did the cccleaner until the analyze didn't find anything and the registry part didn't find anything. Then I re-started just in case. After that the stupid Ad-Aware still showed up in the Add/Remove Programs list. Then I thought to check to see if the program that I've been working on installing still stopped it's install because of Ad-Aware . . . IT DIDN'T!!! THANK-YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!
