JA: The Retirement Accountant will know how to help. Please tell me more, so we can help you best.
Customer: I am elderly and live alone so this woman is my "backup"
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Retirement Accountant should know?
Customer: NO only that I am very capable and do not need extra help. I am considering dropping the payment to 100.00peer wk.

When you pay at least $2,000 in wages to a household worker, you must:

  • Deduct Social Security and Medicare taxes from those wages;
  • Pay these taxes to the Internal Revenue
  • Service (IRS); and
  • Report the wages to Social Security.

As an employer, you pay a 6.2 percent Social Security tax on your employee’s earnings and a 1.45 percent

Medicare tax on earnings. Employees pay the same tax rates.

You will need to file Schedule H with yoru return.
