DOES THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION KEEP ON FILE THE

Customer Question

DOES THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION KEEP ON FILE THE NAMES OF THE BUSINESSES WHERE SOMEONE HAS WORKED? OR JUST THE GROSS TOTAL OF WAGES EARNED? WE ARE TRYING TO FIND OUT WHERE OUR MOTHER WAS AFTER SHE GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL IN 1935. WOULD THERE BE SOME ONE WHO COULD HELP US WITH THIS INFORMATION IF WE HAVE HER SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER..SHE PASSED AWAY IN 1996. AS THE OLDEST OF HER 9 CHILDREN, I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO BE ABLE TO FILL IN THE GAPS TO THAT EARLY PART OF HER LIFE. IS THIS POSSIBLE WITH ANY RECORDS YOU MAY HAVE?

Hi. Great Questions. Yes, they should have that information or on her credit report. But, you need to go back further. I would also try ancestry.com, as well. They have free trial memberships.
