Customer Question

I am receiving ss with one deceased wife. My first wife died a few years ago. We were married for 20 years. Can I receive her social security?
JA: The retirement accountant will know how to help. Please tell me more, so we can help you best.
Customer: Both my wives are now deceased. Searching about my first wife of 20 years
JA: Is there anything else important you think the retirement accountant should know?
Customer: No

Hi. My name's Lane ... I can explain how this works.

...

Yes, you can BUT it's important to understand that benefits can't be "stacked."

...

Social Security will always pay the higher of any benefit to which you're entitled... but they won't stack the first wife's benefit on top of what you're already receiving.

...

They way they actually do this is by paying a combination of benefits that takes you Up TO the highest benefit.

...

Please Let me know if you have ANY questions, before rating me.

But if this HAS helped, and you don’t have more questions on this, I’d appreciate a positive rating (by using those stars on your screen, and clicking submit) … Otherwise JA won’t compensate me for the work.

Thank you,

Lane
