Dear Customer,

Disability insurance is based on someone not able to work due to complete disability for more than one year. Therefore, your earned income in the previous year (2015) is relevant to the SSA for your qualification and benefit due in 2016.

Dear Customer,

The 2015 substantial earning level for disability, for non-blind, was 1,090 per month.

Disability allows for expenses necessary for the disabled to earn income. So, if you were over the allowed amount, you may want to consider the expenses you had in 2015 to offset the earnings.

In either case, you may want to retain an attorney who practices in the area to help you.

Regards,

Fiona
