if i was married to a man in 1970 and he died while we were married, since then i have remarried now i am old enough to get my ss, can i collect on my first husbands??

If you remarried before you reached age 62 you cannot claim survivor benefits unfortunately. You woudl not be allowed to use his work history now.

If you remarry after you reach age 60 (age 50 if disabled), the remarriage will not affect your eligibility for survivors benefits. I apologize I stated 62 incorrectly in my first post.
