Customer Question

Is a SEP-IRA account subject to the windfall provision when determining the amount I should receive each month? I just applied for my Social Security benefits. I am 68 and still working. I currently have 27 years of substantial earning and 5 years in which I received a SEP-IRA and did not pay Social Security Tax.

Hi. Great Question. It should not affect your social security benefits. The social security benefits will only be based on your 27 years of work and if your net self-employment income you had made (if applicable).
