My wife and I recently started receiving social security

Customer Question

My wife and I recently started receiving social security benefits; however, we have not received any reimbursements for Medicare overpayments that we made. Mary Jane at the Lewiston Office handled our cases, but to date we haven't received anything. What should we do?

Hi. Are you in Lewiston, Idaho or Maine? Thank you.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I live in Clarkston, WA which is located adjacent to Lewiston, ID

Thank you. Sorry for all of the questions - did Medicare overpay?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
No. Prior to starting to receive social security, we both overpaid our Medicare monthly premiums and would like to be reimbursed.

Hi. I would send a certified letter to the Lewiston Office, to confirm their receipt, documenting the communication you had and the overpayments made. I would, also, call Medicare directly at 1-***-***-****.

Gee. Ok, thanks for that.

That's enough. I'm not satisfied with your response and don't wish to continue with this conversation any longer.

No worries. You were not charged. Best Wishes.
