I don't know if this will speed up the process, but to be sure your mail got to them, you might try this:...You May Be Able To Apply for A Replacement Card Online You can use a my Social Security account to apply for a replacement Social Security card online if you:Are a U.S. citizen age 18 or older with a U.S. mailing address (this includes APO, FPO, and DPO addresses); Are not requesting a name change or any other change to your card; andHave a valid driver's license or a state-issued identification card from one of the following:District of Columbia (driver's license only);Iowa;Kentucky;Michigan;Nebraska;New Mexico;Washington; orWisconsin (driver's license only).

Processing will likely happen more quickly AND mail FROM social security is typically delivered well and quickly...Another thought ... SOME states will allow for a W-2 or 1099 that shows you and your social security number to be proof of a social security number. You might try asking if they will accept that or any other documentation.
