Customer Question

My spouse will be 62 in December. If I file and suspend when can she file for spousal benefits? Also, will she remain at this rate or will it increase when she reaches retirement age?

My name is***** and I will be helping you with your question today. This is for informational purposes only and does not establish an attorney client relationship.Yes she can but she will not receive 50% because of the early retirement penalty. It will be 32.5% instead and it will be for her life. She will also have to take her retirement as well which will be decreased by 30%. So yes she can take this benefit but it will be reduced by early retirement. Please let me know if you have any further questions and please positively rate my answer if satisfied. There should be smiley faces or numbers from 1-5 to choose from. This extra step will cost you nothing extra and will ensure that I will be compensated for my time by the site.
