secured widows husband benefits since 2006 was sent letter saying 2016 would be same this year as last. However, Jan 2016 amount was cut since prior year. Can you explain?***@******.***

The fact that the benefit did NOTnot go UP has to do with the way inflation was affected by lower oil prices.
