Customer Question

I just turned 66 this past September. If I choose to start collecting S.S. now can I collect 6 months in back pay. Elaine Thaxton

Good morning Elaine. No, not 6 full months, because you can't retroactively collect benefits for months that would cause you to reduced benefits. BUT, you could collect the months after your FRA that you have not yet collected, up to 6 months worth.
