I need to know if Social Security can tell me if my husband

Customer Question

I need to know if Social Security can tell me if my husband is entitled to SSI. He has a rating 20% disability from military induced disability. He does receive a check from the VA of $258. a month and he is on social security. He is 79 and has not been able to work since his company closed.

I am not SS, but I am an SS lawyer and you are at a private/commerical site, not a government site. That said, your husband's eligibility will depend on his income (including VA) from all sources AND your income. He does not have to prove he is disabled at all, since he is over normal retirement age. Can you tell me your marital total income per month? Ball park is fine. Also, do you have any minor children?
