I have an appointment later today to find out about benefits

Customer Question

I have an appointment later today to find out about benefits from my husband's death. I have his social security card, birth certificate and our marriage license, but I have lost his driver's license. what will they do?

His driver's license is not the issue. Having your driver's license or some other form of photo ID is because the benefit payment will be made to you. Also take his death certificate and, if possible, a copy of the last tax return the two of you filed jointly. The tax return will help support the spousal claim.
